FLEET WEEK AT BRYANT PARK

My friend/cousin Mari invited me to join all the moms on an adventure downtown to Battery Park. It is 'Fleet Week' in the city. Fleet Week is a seven-day celebration in New York City that honors the United States Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. (yes, I googled that.) All week long you can watch their ships dock along the piers. It was so cool to see this ship (below) get closer and closer and notice all the men standing on the boat greeting us. It gave me chills!

I was hesitant about going because everyone attending has kids. Sometimes I feel like moms only like to talk to/hang out with other moms. I couldn't have been more wrong. I had a blast and am so glad I went. I came home feeling so grateful for those women, and for making me feel so included. It has always been hard for me to figure out where I fit in and today I just felt normal.

It was the epitome of a perfect Summer day to me! Hot sun, kids, ice cream cones, an amazing city view, great company, splash pads, and feeling totally exhausted by the end. What more could you possibly ask for?

I brought my camera and snapped away all day. I stayed behind the lens and got a little 'practice' in. Here is a very tiny portion of what I captured from the day. (I may have gotten a bit snap happy)

^^ how cute are these two buds watching the ships? They were so excited.

^^ Casey & Harper, TWINS.

^^ Love me some sassy Nora Jane!

^^ Mom goals!

^^ I love this pic because it just looks like they are hosting some sort if club meeting. Little boys and their imaginations are the best.

^^ The One World Trade Center

^^ I loved this mosaic art pieces!! I think mosaic is so cool, one day I would love to learn how to do it!

It was a great day, and to top it off... it was Brady's last sat of school. Hello Summer!
